* Voltaren SR 100 (diclofenac natrium) 20 sustained-release tablets 100 mg. Antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic. * Composition: Each sustained-release tablet contains: Sodium {o-{(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-amino} – phenyl} – acetate = diclofenac sodium 100 mg and excipients. * Therapeutic Indications: Treatment of: – inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism: rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, spondylarthritis, painful syndromes of the vertebral coulmn, non-articular rheumatism. – post-traumatic and postoperative pain, inflammation, and swelling, e.g. following dental or orthopaedic surgery. – painful and/or inflammatory conditions in gynaecology , e.g. primary dysmenorrhoea or adnexitis. * Psology and method of administration: – Adults: The recommended initial daily dosage is 100-150 mg administered as 1 tablet of Voltaren SR 100 or as 2 tablets of Voltaren SR 75. In milder cases, as well as for long-term therapy, 1 tablet of Voltaren SR 75 or Voltaren SR 100 daily is usually sifficient. Where the symptoms are most pronounced during the night or in the morning, Voltaren SR 75 and 100 should preferably be taken in the evening. The tablets should be taken whole with liquid, preferably with meals. – Children: Because of its dosage strength, Voltaren SR is not suitable for children. * Contraindications: – Gastric or intestinal ulcer. – Known hypersensitivity to the active substance and any of the excipients. – Like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Voltaren is also contraindicated in patients in whom attacks of asthma, urticaria, or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other drugs with prostaglandin-synthetase inhibiting activity. * To be used under medical supervision.
